DAVID KIBLINGER
David attended Michigan State University as a Pre-Vet major. He studied Dressage under Chuck Grant, an icon in the Dressage community. David interrupted school for a period with the Marine Corps. While stationed in San Diego, he had the opportunity to ride and train horses in Mission Valley. Upon his Honorable Discharge, David attended Greer Technical Institute in Michigan before returning back to San Diego, CA where David attended San Diego State. David continued to ride and train horses in San Diego and he eventually purchased land where he developed a training facility. Because he had always been interested in home building, David sold his horse facility and started a residential construction business. David has been a builder of fine homes for over thirty years and when he decided to combine his two loves; horses and building.

ANNE KIBLINGER
From the time she was four years old, Anne had always wanted a horse. When she was able to earn money to pay for riding lessons, she learned to ride from a local trainer, David Kiblinger where she ended up marring him a few years later. She found that jumping horses was one of the best things in life! Anne studied residential drafting and design and opened her own design studio in San Diego, “The Designworks”. Working in partnership with David, they completed many residential projects together. Anne continued to own, love and ride horses. She owned an exquisite Portuguese Lusitano mare (trained by the legendary Glen Randall). Together, Anne and “Flamenca” preformed in exhibitions which show-cased the mare’s high school movements. Then, Anne started galloping race horses at a local thoroughbred training facility. She soon acquired her license as an Exercise Rider at the race track. Eventually, Anne and David focused almost exclusively on their construction business. Anne obtained her Real Estate license in California and Oregon.

The combination of David’s equestrian knowledge and his construction experience with Anne’s knowledge of horses and construction design, give their customers a unique advantage to the very best there is to offer in Equine housing construction.

MD Barnmaster (MDB) announced its Sponsorship of the 2017 Rolex Central Park Horse Show

MD Barnmaster (MDB), an industry leader in the design, manufacture and installation of custom-designed pre-engineered barns, stables, professional equestrian facilities and modular buildings https://mdbarnmaster.com/prefabricated-modular-barn-benefits/, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Rolex Central Park Horse Show.

As one of the most anticipated equestrian events of the year, the Rolex Central Park Horse Show is returning to New York City’s iconic Wollman Rink September 20 through the 24th. The event will feature some of the biggest names competing in daily exhibitions across a variety of breeds and disciplines, ranging from Arabians, Show Jumping, Puissance, Dressage, and Hunters to be showcased.

New to this year’s fourth annual event is the Gladiator Polo™ presented by the U.S. Polo Association, and combines the world’s best polo players with modified rules that keep the competition fast.

“27 million people ride a horse every year, which is more than the 23 million who play tennis, the 25 million who golf or the 8 million who ski each year,” says Mark Bellissimo, CEO of International Equestrian Group, LLC (IEG) and Founder of Rolex Central Park Horse Show. “We’re thrilled to be able to bring the equestrian sport and showcase these horses and Olympic-level athletes for our fourth consecutive year in the world’s greatest city. We also want to offer new audiences a chance to experience the beauty of the game and these horses, which is why we’re also partnering with local organizations whose missions are dedicated to providing opportunities and advancements to kids, NYC’s law enforcement and the equestrian sport.” (By: Carly Weilminster)

Prefabricated Modular Barn Benefits

Pre-engineered, prefabricated modular barn benefits by MD Barnmaster. Modular barns have significant benefits over traditional wood construction buildings and barns. Besides the structural integrity advantages, MDB’s modular components are much safer than wood-based products. Just those two benefits alone, structural integrity and fire retarding material, amount to a very compelling reason to choose MDB modular barns. But, there are other reasons pre-fabricated modular horse barns outperform traditional barns.

Comparing the benefits of MDB Modular Barns vs Conventional Barns

Construction savings:
Streamlined construction process saves the buyer a significant amount of time, material waste, and field labor. MBD has been perfecting modular barn technology since 1975. MDB designs, engineers, fabricates and assembles each barn section prior to shipping to the prefab barn kit to the build site ready for final assembly. Quality control management throughout the construction process significantly reduces on-site activity, disturbance of the environment, theft, and inherently speeds up the build time to as little as 8 weeks. (Final on-site assembly can either be completed by the buyer or by an MDB professional building contractor.)

Quality Workmanship:
MDB manufactures all the components of the modular barn in a controlled environment at their Ontario California factory. High quality materials, stringent manufacturing process management and quality control inspection protocols ensure unsurpassed quality workmanship every step of the way.

Modular Versatility:
If you can dream it… we can build it. Versatile modular engineering from MDB can deliver anything from a shedrow barn for a small property, a 100-stall breezeway or back to back barn for a professional equine or veterinary facility, or a state-of-the-art, elaborate, custom dream barn complete with living quarters. MDB can design your barn to your specifications and incorporate colors/materials to match existing property structures or lifestyle. Plus, with endless modular possibilities, we can pre-engineer your modular barn to meet your personal or professional needs today, which you can easily expand for tomorrow’s needs.

Structural Integrity:
Built to stand the test of time. MDB’s laminated wall panels are integrated into the proprietary wall channels and welded to form each wall panel section required for each barn plan. MDB’s exclusive certified roof panels are leak-free. The frame of the barn kits is fabricated from 14-gauge galvanized steel that will last a lifetime. When the entire MDB barn is assembled it creates a structural integrity that outperforms the average conventional barn in handling heavy snow loads, high winds and even jarring earthquakes.

Safety – Health & Welfare:
Modular barn benefits include significant safety features which continues to be one of our the greatest assets in choosing a modular barn over conventional structure. As the innovator in modular barn technology since 1975, MDB set the bar for safety features.

  • Proprietary wall panels come with a lifetime kick-proof and chew-proof warranties.
  • Lifetime kick-proof warrantied wall panels are designed to flex and absorb kicking shock that prevents kick through, injury and wall damage.
  • Lifetime chew-proof warrantied all panels are chew proof so horses cannot digest wood/splinters that can cause health issues such as colic.
  • MDB also eliminates the hazards of decaying, bacteria harboring wood and dangerous exposed rusty nails.
  • Zero% fire spread rating means you enjoy peace-of-mind knowing your horses or livestock have the best safety protection against a hay fire or other fire spreading in the barn.

Maintenance savings:
MDB modular barns are built to withstand the test of time. They’re insect and weather resistant. They require minimal maintenance (spray wash for easy sanitizing). Standard modular barn materials include a 40 year outside wall and roof paint system. Compare that to conventional wood structures that decay over time and require frequent maintenance to prolong their lifespan. Traditional barns can expect ongoing expense of painting or sealing, roofing, wall and stall repair. Decaying wood barns are a health hazard to horses and livestock. They attract insects, harbor disease and loose boards can expose hazardous nails.

Warranty:
We’re as serious about barns as you are about horses. MDB sets the standard for the best warranties on all their modular barns, buildings, equestrian facilities and other structures. MDB includes a lifetime kick-proof and chew-proof warranty on wall panels with a zero % fire spread rating. Standard outside roof and walls come with a 40-year paint system.

WE OWN THE EXPERIENCE – The leading barn and equestrian facility builder since 1975.

Ashely Simmons, breeder of elite Friesian horses and owner of Black Magic Farms located in Heber Valley, Utah’s little Switzerland, took a moment to share her reasons for contracting Ben Dickamore of MD Barnmaster, Utah to build their latest RCA 10-stall barn.

Building modular barns, is nothing new to the Simmons’ family. They have plenty of do-it-yourself (DIY) experience having built two pole barns and eventually tackling a 6-stall MDB barn several years ago. After Ashley installed the roof, all by herself, they decided it was easier to have MDB install the fascia and gutters.

Ashely liked the fact that MD Barnmaster’s superior modular construction is actually quite straight forward – “no real construction experience is necessary” she commented. “Snow load, and wind factors are all calculated for, it’s just a matter of putting everything together.”

She laughed for a moment, and was reminded of a friend who purchased an MDB barn years ago. Every time her friend moved, she would disassemble and reassemble that same barn. “She must have moved that barn a dozen times, and still has it.” The memory of her friend moving that barn around made Ashley chuckle.

For the more recent barn, Ashley chose a 10-stall floor plan. “Because of the flexibility modular design offers, we designated where the tack room, wash rack, etc. would be located”. When we asked how her experience working with Ben was, she commented without hesitation, “working with Ben was great. We’ll continue to work with MDB as our ranch needs grow”.

To quote MDB: Intelligent Design • Unsurpassed Quality • Uncommon Beauty

You can view Ms. Ashley’s new barn at BlackMagicFarms.com and learn a little about the magnificent Friesian horse – a truly majestic breed of horse.

Thanks to Ben Dickamore, Equine Estates Owner and MDB Utah distributor, for keeping the MDB barn passion alive.

The Sponsorship will start in November for the final National Sunshine Series at the HITS Desert Horse Park facility at Thermal, California and will extend through the 2017 competitions at HITS shows across the country.

MD Barnmaster is the best. We had a Barnmaster shed row barn 10 years ago and loved it. We have a new property and a gorgeous 6 stall gable barn from MD Barmaster. JD is awesome and worked with us to help us get our barn. The crew who came to build it was excellent and really nice guys (Thanks J Team!). Our neighbors were shocked they put the barn together in a little over one day.  We looked at building a barn and other pre-fab barns and this is by far the best built. Our neighbor has a 20-year-old barn master still in great shape. The permit process was very easy because Barnmaster engineers worked with our county to get the specs.  We have 3 open pipe stalls, a 12’ overhang with outside pipe corrals, a closed tack room and a 12’ x 24’ area to store hay for a year for our 2 horses, pony and miniature donkey.  We feed our horses separately and let them out. They spend their day in the aisle or in the open stalls. They love the barn because it’s so open and shady.  It doesn’t get better than that!

My human is busy these days watching the Olympics. Most people know the names of recent equine Olympic stars and who the most decorated human Olympian is. However, I thought it would be appropriate to find out who the most decorated EQUINE Olympian is. Any guesses?
olympic glory
First hint, it’s a mare (but not Touch of Class). She is German, but not one of the popular warmblooded breeds we see today in the show ring. One of this 1945 mare’s parents was a French trotting mare (unknown breed), and the other a Standardbred Oberst stallion. Originally she was picked out by the military to be a service horse but proved very difficult to ride, like some other mares I know. Eventually Halla (yes, that’s her name) was partnered with Hans Günter Winkler in 1951. Together this pair would work their way up from regional victories to the international level, winning back-to-back World Championships before heading to the 1956 Stockholm Olympic games.

Still not an easy ride, Halla took off early to the second to last fence and unseated her rider. Winkler suffered a pulled groin muscle. Most riders would have been unable to ride the second round, but Germany’s team would have been eliminated if Halla didn’t return. After having been administered pain medication, Winkler rode back into the arena. While her rider screamed of pain over each fence, Halla turned in a clear round and won not only team gold but also individual gold for Hans Gunter Winkler.

But the mighty Halla wasn’t finished and would return for the 1960 Olympic games in Rome. Halla contributed once more to the 1960 German jumping team’s gold medal efforts. With three gold medals over two Olympics, the cross bred mare became the most decorated equine Olympic athlete in history. Her rider, Hans Gunter Winkler, would win a total of seven Olympic medals (five gold, one silver, and one bronze) over the course of 5 Olympic games.

If you would like to see the video of Halla’s winning ride:
